• Water-resistant. Vinyl, whether it be luxury plank or tile or even sheet vinyl, is made with waterproof materials. You can have a water spill or other liquids on the floor and your luxury vinyl will be perfectly fine.
• Rugged. In homes or areas where there is a high level of foot traffic, vinyl holds up very well. You will need to take care of the flooring using a dry mop and a vacuum. Abrasives can damage or dull the flooring. If you plan on using a cleaner, make sure that it’s been designed specifically for vinyl flooring.

Vinyl is a great, versatile flooring option that comes in sizes ranging from 2mm thickness to 8+ mm thickness and with a protective layer measured in Mils from 6mil to 30mil. A good quality luxury vinyl should come with a protective layer of 12 or 20mil. Anything below 12mil is considered a lower quality and anything above 20mil is a nice to have extra. Not always an overall thicker product is a better product!
